trying to swap out an old 90 elbow on my -12 hose, is this one a female JIC swivel with 1-1/16-12 threads?

This Global TTC fitting is made for general-purpose low and medium pressure hydraulic applications. It's designed to work with -12 hoses. If you plan to use it in places where there might be shock hazards, go with an H277 or H435 hose for extra safety.

Does this fitting need a mandrel during the crimp process, or is it good to go without one?

No mandrel required on this one. It's built to crimp directly onto -12 hose without that extra step, which saves some time and keeps the assembly process straightforward for standard shop setups.

For tight routing, it’s set up as a 90 degree elbow crimp fitting for -12 hose, and the end is a 1-1/16-12 Female JIC 37 degree flare swivel. That swivel flare end is meant to make alignment easier while still giving you a JIC 37 connection.
