Will this fitting hold up okay in a hydraulic system that sees medium pressure use?

does this fitting work without needing a mandrel for the -04 hose, or do I gotta have special tooling on hand?

No mandrel is needed for installation on -04 hose, which keeps the process straightforward and cuts down on the extra tooling you'd otherwise have to track down. Just use standard crimping equipment and you're good to go.
