got a tee with one male end and two female ends, all 3/8-18. Is that what this adapter is?

Built as a pipe-to-pipe tee, it has one 3/8-18 male NPTF on the run and two 3/8-18 female NPTF ports for the run and the branch.

got a spot in my grease line where i need to branch off to two directions, will this tee work for that kind of setup, or is it just for hydraulic fluid?

Grease systems are actually one of the listed applications for this fitting, right alongside instrumentation and general hydraulic use. The 2092 Series from Eaton Aeroquip covers that range, so splitting a grease line with this tee is a legitimate use case.
