fitting says no mandrel needed during install, that accurate for both 1 and 2 wire braid hose?

Correct on both counts. The TTC series is built so you can crimp it straight onto 1 or 2 wire braid hose without pulling out a mandrel. Saves a step during assembly, which adds up when you're doing a run of fittings on a job.

got a -06 hose and need a straight female JIC, is this the one with 1/2-20 threads?

You are looking at a straight crimp fitting with a 1/2-20 female JIC 37 degree flare on one end and a -06 hose size on the other, with an SAE 37 end type.

Will this fitting work with a standard JIC flare? I want to make sure it seats right.

This fitting uses a 1/2-20 Female JIC 37-degree flare, so it should seat properly with any standard JIC flare of that size.
