fitting says no sealant needed on the thread -- is that right for a G 1/2 BSP connection or do i still need to tape it?

G 1/2 BSP threads on this fitting are confirmed to not require sealant, so no tape or thread compound is needed at that connection point. BSP threads are parallel and rely on a sealing surface or captured seal rather than thread engagement alone, which is why the no-sealant spec holds. Just make sure the mating surface is clean and undamaged before you torque it down.

trying to keep a hose tucked in tight, is this the 90 degree elbow with the G 1/2 female BSP swivel for -08 hose?

For a tight turn, it’s a 90 degree elbow crimp fitting with a G 1/2 female BSP swivel end, and it’s made to fit -08 hose.
