trying to hook up a line with 1-1/16-12 JIC, is this tee set up with a swivel female on the run and two male ends for the run and branch?

For layout, it is a steel JIC 37 degree flare tee with a 1-1/16-12 female swivel on the run, and 1-1/16-12 male JIC 37 degree flare connections on the other run end and on the branch.

got a tee fitting situation on a hydraulic line and need something that'll split off a 1-1/16-12 JIC line into a run and a branch -- this the right part for that?

That's what this fitting handles. You've got a 1-1/16-12 female JIC swivel on one end that connects to your existing line, and it breaks out into two 1-1/16-12 male JIC run and branch ports. All three connections are 37-degree flare, so as long as your line ends are machined to that same SAE spec, you're in good shape. The swivel on the female end gives you some wiggle room during installation so you're not fighting torque on the mating hose or tube.

got a tee in my hand that’s 1-1/16-12 JIC on all three ends, one side swivels. is that what this part is?

You’re in the right ballpark. This is an Eaton Aeroquip steel tee adapter with 1-1/16-12 JIC 37 degree flare connections, set up as a female JIC 37 degree flare swivel run to a male JIC 37 degree flare run and a male JIC 37 degree flare branch.
