Will this fitting work with standard -04 hose?

This Eaton Aeroquip hose fitting is made for -04 hose, so it should be a direct fit.

would this work with 1/4 inch hydraulic hose on my skid steer

You'll want to double-check your hose size first - this fitting is specifically made for -04 hose, which is actually 1/4 inch inside diameter. The crimp design works with both 1 and 2 wire braid steel hose construction, so as long as your skid steer uses -04 size hose with the right wire braid setup, this straight JIC fitting should work fine for your hydraulic connections.

Fits directly onto 1 or 2 wire braid hoses in the -04 size, using a 7/16-20 male JIC 37-degree flare for a straight connection.
