Dura-Kote is a corrosion-resistant plating applied specifically to extend the service life of the fitting in harsh or exposed environments. Carbon steel on its own is vulnerable to rust, but the Dura-Kote finish gives it meaningful protection against moisture and corrosive conditions. That's a big part of why Eaton Aeroquip uses it on assemblies like this one where long-term uptime matters.
