Dura-Kote plating covers the exterior, which is Eaton Aeroquip's approach to giving carbon steel fittings a meaningful layer of corrosion resistance. It's built for industrial environments where moisture, grime, and general abuse are part of the daily routine. Carbon steel on its own wouldn't cut it long-term in those conditions, so the plating is doing real work here, not just a cosmetic finish.
