trying to hook a 1 inch female pipe port up to a 1-5/16-12 jic line, is this the right straight adapter?

For exactly that situation, the 2242-16-16S is what you want. One end is a 1-11-1/2 female NPT, the other is a 1-5/16-12 female JIC 37 degree flare swivel. The swivel on the JIC side gives you some rotational freedom when you're locking down the flare nut, which makes life a lot easier in tight spots. It's a straight adapter, so no angle to account for. Eaton Aeroquip 2242 series, steel construction.
