what's the thread setup on this reducer, is it female on one end and male on the other, or same on both sides?

Female JIC SAE 37-degree flare on one end, male JIC SAE 37-degree flare on the other. The female side runs 1-7/8-12 and the male side is 1-5/8-12, so you're stepping down between two different thread sizes. Both ends meet SAE J514 spec.
