Product Questions & Answers

got an inboard boat motor and need fuel line, is this the kind thats rated for marine use and not just regular auto hose?
Question by: Dustin P on Sep 21, 2025, 9:19 PM
For marine fuel systems, this hose is built to meet SAE J1527 Type A1, which calls for flame resistance and higher permeation resistance. It is also qualified to SAE J1942-1 (May 2002) for marine fuel lines, and it is noted as not requiring a firesleeve.

What kind of stuff can this hose handle? I'm thinkin' diesel and maybe some hot oil.
Question by: Billy T on Jul 4, 2025, 6:37 AM
This USCG Type A1 hose is designed for diesel fuel, gasoline, hot lube oil, and water, making it a superior choice for marine fuel systems. It also meets SAE J1527 Type A1 standards, meaning it's flame resistant and has increased permeation resistance.

does this hose hold up to gasoline and diesel both, or is it just rated for one fuel type?
Question by: Darryl S on Nov 25, 2025, 2:58 PM
Rated for diesel fuel, gasoline, hot lube oil, and water, so it handles all of those without issue. The AQP elastomer tube and the braided refractory insulation work together to keep permeation down and hold up against the heat that fuel lines in a marine engine compartment can throw at it. It also meets SAE J1527 Type A1, which is the flame resistant, increased permeation resistance classification, so you are not limited to a single fuel type.

got a tight spot by the tank, how sharp can i bend this 1/2 inch fuel hose without kinkin it
Question by: Warren P on Feb 24, 2026, 4:09 PM
For routing in cramped areas, the minimum bend radius on this hose is 2.25 inches. Staying at or above that radius helps it flex without kinking during installation.
