got a 1/4 NPT male port on a hydraulic line and need to hook up a JIC fitting on the other end, this adapter do that?

That's what this one's for. One end is 1/4-18 male NPT, the other is 1/2-20 female JIC with a 37-degree flare swivel. The swivel end gives you a little rotation to line things up without fighting the fitting, which makes hookup a lot cleaner when you're working in a tight spot.
