Valve Families & Key Specs

  • Alpha Series: 4-way, 2-position valves with spring or solenoid return, 1/4 in NPT side ports, 50 flow rating.

  • Cat Series: 3-way, 2-position valves, normally closed or normally open, 1/8 in NPT side ports, 2.0–2.2 flow rating.

  • L01 Series: compact 4-way valves rated up to 9.3 SCFM.

  • L2 Series: 4-way valves for larger circuits, up to 79 SCFM.

  • MaxAir Series: high-capacity solenoid-operated valves, up to 167 SCFM.

Selection tips: match the valve way/position to your circuit, choose spring or solenoid return as required, confirm NPT port size and available SCFM to meet demand, and check the item card for lead time. If you need service or setup support, HSC offers Repair Services.

Coils, Connectors & Accessories

Coil choices cover 120VAC and 240VAC units that use a 22 mm solenoid connector, as well as 24VAC/12VDC coils with 18-inch molded lead wires that eliminate the separate connector.

Accessories include DIN 43650 style connectors, including versions with a 24 V light and strain relief. Always pair the coil voltage and 22 mm interface specified for the valve. For application help, contact us.

Common uses include automated equipment in Manufacturing, machinery in Industrial/Packaging, and air circuits supporting Construction operations.

Directional Solenoid Valve FAQs

What Does a Directional Solenoid Valve Do?

It routes compressed air between supply, exhaust, and cylinder lines using an electrically actuated spool so your actuator extends, retracts, or holds position as commanded.

What Is the Difference Between 3-Way and 4-Way Valves?

A 3-way valve switches one cylinder port plus supply and exhaust. A 4-way valve switches two cylinder ports for double-acting actuators, providing both extend and retract control.

Which Return Types Are Available?

You will see spring return and solenoid return options. Spring return drives the spool to a default state when power is removed, while solenoid return uses a coil to shift both directions.

How Do I Match Coils and Connectors?

Confirm the voltage on the product card, verify the 22 mm interface, and decide whether you need a coil with molded lead wires or a separate DIN 43650 connector with strain relief and indicator light.

Where Can I Get Sizing or Selection Help?

Check the item’s SCFM rating, NPT port size, and return type against your circuit requirements. For assistance with selection or service, contact us or visit Repair Services.
