got an old ARO valve that needs a new coil and the original was 120 volt. this the right size to drop in?

For a 120VAC setup, this is a 22 mm coil and it comes with 18 inch molded lead wires already attached, so you are wiring directly to the leads instead of using a separate solenoid connector.
