these stretch for install and then snap back to size, how's that work exactly with a -334 dash size, won't it be pretty snug going in?
Question by: Stan G on Mar 22, 2026, 1:03 PM
Urethane has a natural elasticity to it, so you can stretch the ring enough to get it seated without fighting it. Once it's in place, the material returns to its molded dimensions pretty quickly. That recovery is actually what makes urethane a good choice here, you get a secure fit without needing tools or heat to work it into position. The 90A durometer keeps it firm enough to resist extrusion under pressure while still being flexible enough to install by hand.

got an o-ring in a -334 groove, is this backup ring the right size to match it?
Question by: Harold J on Jul 24, 2025, 3:04 PM
Sizes on these back-up rings correspond to O-ring sizes, so a -334 back-up ring is meant to pair with a -334 O-ring size.

these back-up rings stretch for install and then snap back? just want to make sure i ain't gotta fight 'em to get 'em seated right
Question by: Wayne T on Mar 27, 2025, 7:14 PM
That's how they work. The urethane is molded at 90A durometer, which gives it enough flex to stretch over whatever you're fitting it onto, then it pulls back to its original shape pretty quick. Makes the whole installation a lot less of a hassle than you'd expect for a ring this firm.

got a -334 o-ring groove, are these backup rings matched to that dash size or is it some other sizing deal
Question by: Travis E on Jun 7, 2025, 6:31 AM
For these, the sizes correspond to O-ring sizes, so a -334 back-up ring is meant to match a -334 O-ring size.

What size o-ring does this backup ring work with?
Question by: Ralph C on Apr 26, 2025, 1:38 PM
Sizes for these rings correspond directly to O-ring dash sizes, so this -334 will match the appropriate O-ring.
