torque spec on this fitting -- is 158 ft-lbs the low end or is that the target?

The rated torque range runs from 158 to 175 LB/FT, so 158 is the low end of the acceptable range, not a target midpoint. Staying within that window matters for getting a proper crimp seal without overstressing the fitting body.
