got a rod in here marked X0123, is this the same Felsted 4 Series rod or am i chasing the wrong part

Match it up by the supplier part number X0123. That part number is for the Felsted 4 Series Rod, and it also crosses to alternate part number 40288-2.

does this rod need any kind of sealant or special prep before putting it in?

No sealant required on this one. The design handles that without it, so you can skip that step entirely and just drop it in as part of your installation without worrying about thread compounds or anything like that.
