Product Questions & Answers

What kind of fluid can this hose handle? I'm using petroleum-based stuff mostly.
Question by: Rod E on Mar 7, 2026, 9:32 PM
This X-FLEX SAE 100R13 hose is made for high-pressure hydraulic systems running on both petroleum and water-based fluids.

hose been running a 1.5 inch line on some heavy equipment and need something that'll hold up past 4500 PSI without sweating it -- this FC500-24 rated high enough for that kind of pressure?
Question by: Scott W on Jul 2, 2025, 4:20 PM
At 5076 PSI maximum operating pressure, it's got solid headroom above 4500 PSI for a 1.5 inch ID application. The four-layer heavy spiral wire reinforcement is what gives it that rating, and the synthetic rubber inner tube is compatible with petroleum and water-based fluids, so most standard hydraulic fluid types are covered. The Dura-Tuff rubber cover also handles abrasion better than a standard cover, which matters on equipment where the line sees a lot of contact or movement.

got a tight spot to snake this hose through, how sharp can i bend the FC500-24 without kinking it
Question by: Lee Y on Sep 15, 2025, 4:38 PM
Bend radius is the big limiter on this one. The minimum bend radius is 10 inches, so you want to keep any routing arcs at or above that to avoid stressing the spiral reinforcement.
