got a tight spot to route hose through. how tight can this FC500-20 bend without kinkin it up?

For routing, the minimum bend radius on the FC500-20 is 8.25 inches. Keeping your bend at or above that radius helps it flex without stressing the reinforcement.

hose rated for 5076 PSI -- that hold up running petroleum hydraulic fluid full time, or is that more of a peak pressure rating?

At 5076 PSI, that is the maximum operating pressure, so your working system pressure needs to stay at or below that ceiling. Petroleum-based hydraulic fluids are squarely within what this hose is built for, along with water-based fluids. The multi-spiral wire reinforcement handles the load, and the synthetic rubber inner tube is compatible with those fluid types. Just make sure your fittings and other components in the line are rated to match.
