got a couple hoses that like to jump around if something lets go. is this whipcheck basically a safety cable for hose-to-hose hookups?

Think of it as a hose restraint meant to help prevent hose whip if a hose-to-hose connection fails. It’s used to keep things more controlled and improve safety during operation.

What exactly does a whipcheck like this do, and is it something I'd need on every hose connection or just certain ones?
Question by: Johnny F on Jun 29, 2025, 2:23 PM
When a hose fitting lets go under pressure, the free end can whip around violently and cause serious injuries. A whipcheck cables the two hoses together so if the connection fails, neither hose can go anywhere. Whether you need one on every connection really comes down to your site's safety requirements, but they're especially worth having anywhere you've got high-pressure lines running in areas where people are working nearby.
