Is this the actual OEM fastener or one of them aftermarket knockoffs that never quite fits right?

Genuine Permco part, sourced directly from Permco. The SKU W1-58 matches their OEM specification, so thread pitch and dimensions are going to be exactly what the original assembly calls for. That matters on gear pump and motor housings where a slightly off fastener can mess with sealing and clamping force.
