got a two-function setup on a machine, is this basically a 2-section valve bank with those 35 degree handles?

Built as a two-section, two-bank metering valve, it gives you two controlled functions and uses 35 degree handles on each section for operation.

Does this valve bank need any kind of calibration or adjustment before putting it into service?

Right out of the box, it's ready to run. The VM7-2B3535 is built to function without any adjustment or calibration, so you're not spending time dialing anything in before getting to work. Two sections, 35-degree handles, and it's good to go once installed.
