trying to figure out what this popup indicator actually tells me, is it just pressure or somethin else

It’s a visual differential pressure indicator, so it pops up to show you when the pressure difference reaches its set point. On this model, that trip point is 30 PSI.

It gives you a visual signal of differential pressure at a 30 PSI setting, so you can tell when the pressure drop across the filter has reached that point without having to take a manual reading.
