hose says it handles up to 350F continuous, but does that rating hold even if the install is close to the water injection point?

Placement relative to the water injection point matters a lot with this hose. The recommendation is to install it far enough downstream from that injection point so the temperature at the hose's actual location stays within the 350 degree continuous rating. If it's positioned too close, heat at that spot can exceed what even a high-temp silicone hose is rated for. Get the routing right and the 350F ceiling holds up fine for continuous operation.
