Will this nut work with standard hydraulic tubing, or is it something special?

got a half-inch tube that needs a JIC connection and I ain't sure if this nut'll work with it, is this the right part?

For a 0.50-inch tube going into a 3/4-16 female JIC 37-degree flare connection, this is the correct nut. It's part of Eaton Aeroquip's FC2875 Series and that thread size and tube diameter are exactly what it's built around. Just make sure your tubing hardness doesn't go over Rockwell B65, and that the tube ends are clean and deburred before you put it together.
