Does this detent kit work with all VD8A working sections, or just certain builds?

It fits within the VD8A Series directional control valve platform specifically. The R2 Detent Kit is built to add mechanical detent function to VD8A working sections, so the spool holds its position without the operator keeping pressure on the handle. This kit works with the Salami VD8A series, which is rated up to 5100 PSI on the main ports.

got a VD8A working section that won’t stay put unless you keep your hand on it. is this the little detent kit that holds the spool position

Mechanical detent is exactly what the R2 kit adds. It is meant for the Salami VD8A Series working section so the spool can stay in the selected position without constant operator input.
