trying to replace a 45 elbow on my -16 hose, is this one the female ORFS swivel with 1-7/16-12 threads?

It matches a -16 hose end with a 45 degree elbow, and the port side is a female O-Ring Face Seal swivel with 1-7/16-12 threads.

This crimp fitting is designed for general-purpose low and medium pressure hydraulic applications. It's also recommended for use with H277 or H435 hoses in systems where there might be shock hazards.

does this fitting work without a mandrel, or do i need special tooling to get it crimped on?

No mandrel is needed for installation on this one. That simplifies things quite a bit, especially out in the field where you may not have a full tool setup handy. It's a crimp fitting, so your standard crimp tooling handles it without the extra step of seating a mandrel inside the hose first.
