trying to replace a fitting on my -12 hose. is this one the straight female ORFS swivel with 1-3/16-12 threads?

fitting says it works with H277 or H435 hose, does that mean it won't crimp onto other hose types, or is that just where they recommend it?

For shock hazard environments specifically, H277 and H435 are the called-out hose types for this fitting. Outside of shock conditions, it's a general-purpose low and medium pressure crimp fitting, so the hose pairing still needs to fall within those compatible types. Using it with a hose not listed for this fitting risks an improper crimp and potential connection failure, so sticking to the specified hose is the right call.
