Will this fitting work with a standard 1/2 inch hydraulic hose?

This Eaton Aeroquip fitting is designed to work with a -06 hose, which is roughly equivalent to a 3/8 inch hose size. It's not intended for use with a 1/2 inch hose.

Been trying to track down a straight SAE O-ring boss fitting that'll work on a -06 hose without needing thread sealant. This the right one for that?

That's what this fitting is built for. The 3/4-16 male SAE O-ring boss connection handles the seal through the o-ring itself, so no thread sealant is needed. It takes a -06 hose and installs straight, no mandrel required either. Keeps the job cleaner and quicker than dealing with tape or paste.
