trying to replace a hose end i pulled off, is this the straight male pipe fitting for a -12 hose with 1/2-14 threads?

Correct on both counts. The 1AA8MP12 is built for -12 hose and pairs with either H277 or H435 hose. Those two hose types are the specified match when you've got shock hazard conditions in the system, so you're looking at the right part.
