i’ve got a -16 hose with a JIC end, is this the straight female 37 degree flare fitting with the 1-5/8-12 threads?

fitting says no thread sealant needed -- is that right? never used one that didnt need it

For JIC 37-degree flare connections, the metal-to-metal seating between the flare and the fitting face is what creates the seal. No sealant, no tape, nothing extra. The 1AA20FJ16 works the same way. Just make sure the flare surfaces are clean and undamaged before assembly, and you're good.
