trying to match up a crimp fitting i pulled off a -12 hose, is this one the 45 degree elbow with the female jic swivel

You’re looking at a 45 degree elbow crimp fitting for -12 hose with a female JIC 37 degree flare swivel end. The thread on that JIC end is 1-1/16-12.

fitting says no mandrel needed during install, just want to make sure i'm reading that right before i order a handful of these. that correct?

that's accurate. The TTC design on these Aeroquip crimp fittings does away with the mandrel requirement, so installation is more straightforward than some older-style fittings. No thread sealant needed either, which saves a step. Just make sure you're working with a -12 hose and you're set.
