does this fitting need a mandrel to put on, or is it one of them no-mandrel setups?

No mandrel required for installation. That simplifies the crimping process and reduces the tooling you need to have on hand, which is handy when you're working through a stack of assemblies. Just make sure you're pairing it with a -20 hose and the right crimp specs for the TTC series.

i’ve got a -20 hose, is this the straight crimp end with the G 1-1/4 female BSP swivel or am i lookin at the wrong one

It’s a straight steel crimp fitting made for a -20 hose, and the thread end is a G 1-1/4 Female BSP swivel. It’s part of the Aeroquip TTC 1 and 2 wire braid steel crimp fitting line.
