trying to replace an old elbow fitting. is this one the kind that crimps onto a -04 wire braid hose and then threads into M14 x 1.5?

It is a 90 degree stainless steel crimp fitting made for 1 and 2 wire braid hose in size -04, and the thread side is an M14 x 1.5 Female DIN universal swivel.
