how many of these clamps do I need for a 6 inch tigerflex hose on each end?

For 5 inch ID hose and larger, two clamps per end are recommended. So on a 6 inch hose, you'd want to plan on a pair at each connection point rather than relying on just one. That's straight from the application guidance for this clamp size.

These TigerClamp spiral double bolt clamps are recommended for use on Tigerflex convoluted hoses, including Series 2001, 2020, BW, CG, F, G, GC, GC-C, H, J, JG, K, PF, S, UBK, W, WBS, WE, WG, WH, WST, WSTF, WT, and WU. They're also good for use on Ureflex-1, Ureflex-2, and Urevac-3 hoses.

i’ve got a Tigerflex hose with that ribbed, spiral cover. is this clamp meant for that kind, or just smooth hose

Made for Tigerflex hoses that have a convoluted cover with a counter-clockwise spiral. It is not presented as a general clamp for smooth-cover hose in this product info.
