rated load says 24,000 lbs but i got a long stroke setup and somebody told me those numbers don't hold up the same way at full extension, is that true for this one?

Column loading is a real concern with longer stroke cylinders, and yes, the full extension rating on this one is lower than the base load capacity to account for that. The product data calls this out directly, long stroke designs have reduced ratings at full extension to prevent shaft buckling. Load calculations for this cylinder are based on pin-to-pin mounting, so if your setup deviates from that, the numbers shift. The 24,000 lb rated load applies under the right conditions, but working at or near full extension with heavy push loads needs to account for that column load reduction. A minimum safety factor of 2 is recommended for maximum pushing loads.

got a cylinder on a piece of equipment that takes 1/2 npt ports, is this one set up that way or am i gonna be fighting adapters
