Long stroke cylinders like this one do carry a lower full extension rating specifically because of column loading concerns. The longer the stroke, the more vulnerable the rod becomes to buckling under pushing loads. So if you're running this near full extension under heavy push loads, you'll want to make sure your actual load stays well within that rated limit. Pulling loads are a different story since the rod is in tension rather than compression, but push loads at full stretch need to be sized conservatively.
