Got a couple Permco 257-series units we rebuild in-house pretty regular. Does this kit cover the bushing removal side of that, or is it more of a general-purpose puller setup?

Purpose-built specifically for the 257 series, so it's matched tooling, not a generic puller you're adapting to fit. That matters on gear units because improvised tools can score the bore or distort the housing during extraction. Having the right fit and leverage built into the kit is what keeps the teardown clean and repeatable, especially when you're turning those units around on a regular basis.
