got a 5/8 air line already, is this hose actually that size or is it some oddball measurement

Size-wise, it’s a 0.625 inch inside diameter, which is the same as 5/8 inch ID. The outside diameter is 1.00 inch, so make sure your clamps and routing have room for that OD.
