What kind of fittings work best with this Sunrise air hose?

Shank type or universal type fittings are what you'll want to use, and you can secure them with pinch clamps, Band-It Jr preformed clamps, or bolt clamps.

got an air line that takes 1/2 inch hose, is this one actually 1/2 ID or is that just kinda close?

For sizing, the inside diameter on this hose is 0.50 inch and the outside diameter is about 0.83 inch. If your setup is based on 1/2 inch ID hose, that matches the stated ID.
