got a cylinder with a 1.50 bore. is this the right piston seal for that, or am i missin somethin?

Fit comes down to the bore and groove numbers. This Style 1400 seal is sized for a 1.50 inch bore and a 1.24 inch groove diameter, with a listed piston diameter of 1.497 inches. The tolerances given are bore ±0.002 inches and piston diameter ±0.001 inches, so it is meant to run in a pretty tight, defined setup.
