Does this fitting work without any crimping tools, or do I need special equipment to put it on?

No crimping tools needed on this one. The socketless design lets you install it by hand, which saves a good bit of time when you're working in tight spots or out in the field without a full shop setup. It goes together mechanically, so as long as your hose is the right size, you're ready to go.
