fitting says reusable -- does that mean I can pull it off old hose and put it on a new one without buying another fitting?

Reusable in this context means the fitting body can be removed from a worn or damaged hose and reinstalled onto a replacement hose, as long as the fitting itself is in good shape. No mandrel is required during that process, which makes the job a fair bit simpler. You do want to inspect the fitting carefully before reusing it since any deformation or thread damage would be a reason to swap it out rather than reinstall it.

Will this fitting hold up okay in a hydraulic brake system on a farm truck? I'm not hauling heavy, just need something reliable.
