With a two-piece reusable design like this one, the socket and nipple separate so you can remove the fitting from a worn hose and reinstall it onto a replacement. No mandrel is needed during assembly, which makes field reuse more straightforward than with some other fitting styles. The -10 hose end accepts the fitting directly, and the male NPT side threads into your port as usual.
