got a -06 hose here, is this the right reusable end for it or am i mixin sizes up

This one is made for a -06 hose and uses a 9/16-18 female JIC 37 degree flare swivel on the other end, so the hose size and thread callout match what you listed.

Does this fitting work without a mandrel, or do I need to track down extra tooling before I can put it together?

No mandrel required on this one. The TTC design lets you assemble it without that extra step, which saves some hassle when you're working in the field or just don't want to mess with additional tooling. Just make sure you're pairing it with a -06 hose and you're good to go.
