Product Questions & Answers

got a hydraulic hose that keeps getting chewed up where it runs along the frame rail, would this coil spring help with that?
Question by: Marvin R on Aug 8, 2025, 11:06 AM
Abrasion along frame rails is exactly the kind of wear this coil is built to stop. It wraps around the outside of the hose and shields both the cover and the reinforcement underneath from rubbing, scraping, and accidental contact damage. The 1.18 inch inner diameter is the key fit detail, you want it sitting snug against the hose outer diameter, not loose. If it doesn't slide on easily, you can unwind it slightly to open up the ID just enough to get it seated, then let it spring back into place around the hose.

got a hose that keeps rubbin on stuff in the skid steer, what’s this coil spring actually do?
Question by: Pete S on Jul 18, 2025, 2:38 PM
On hoses that see rubbing or bumps, the steel coil acts like a guard over the outside of the hose to help protect the cover and reinforcement from abrasion and accidental damage.

Will this coil keep my hydraulic hose from getting all scraped up when it's dragging on the ground?
Question by: Ricky S on Jun 20, 2025, 1:54 PM
Absolutely, this protective coil is constructed from rust-resistant steel wire specifically to shield the hose cover and reinforcement from abrasion and accidental damage, especially when dragged.

does this spring need to be a tight fit around the hose or is some play okay?
Question by: Sherry W on Mar 1, 2026, 10:52 AM
Snug is what you're after. The coil should fit close against the hose outer diameter to do its job right. If it's sitting loose, it won't protect the cover and reinforcement the way it's supposed to. For installation, you may need to unwind the coil a bit to open up the internal diameter before sliding it on, then let it settle back into place around the hose.
