trying to cap off a 3/8-18 npt hole, is this the right plug or am i mixin up threads?

Thread-wise, it matches a 3/8-18 male NPTF plug, so it’s meant to screw into a 3/8-18 female pipe thread to close that port off.

Will this plug work alright for sealing off a 3/8 NPT port on my hydraulic manifold? Just need something to keep the oil from leaking out.

This Eaton Aeroquip adapter is designed to seal 3/8-18 NPTF external pipe threads. The countersunk hex design allows for tightening it down securely to prevent leaks.
