got a line with 1/2-14 male npt on it right now, will this bushing let me step it down to 1/4-18 female npt?

For stepping down pipe threads, this adapter is a pipe to pipe steel bushing with a 1/2-14 male NPTF end and a 1/4-18 female NPTF end, so it’s meant to reduce from 1/2-14 male to a 1/4-18 female connection.

Got a line running 1/2 NPT male and need to drop it down to a 1/4 female port, this bushing do that?

That's what this adapter is built for. The male end threads into a 1/2-14 NPT female port, and the 1/4-18 NPT female end accepts a 1/4 male fitting on the smaller line. It's a reducer bushing style, so the whole thing stays compact without needing a separate coupler in between.
