got a 3/8 male NPT line coming off a pump and need to tie into a 1/2 female NPT port at a 90 degree angle, this the right part for that?

That's what this adapter is built for. The male end is 3/8-18 NPT and the female end is 1/2-14 NPT, so it steps up the thread size while making that 90 degree turn in one fitting. trying to hook a 3/8 pipe male into a 1/2 pipe female and need it to turn 90 degrees. is that what this adapter does

Function-wise, it’s a 90 degree elbow adapter with a 3/8-18 male NPT on one end and a 1/2-14 female NPT on the other, so it’s meant for exactly that kind of pipe-thread size change while making a right-angle turn.
